Relay For Life of Wausau

Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight fundraising event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams campout at John Muir Middle School and take turns walking laps. Teams are forming now!

You can also purchase a Luminaria in honor of a cancer survivor or in memory of someone who lost their life to cancer. This white paper bag holds a white candle. The outside of the bag contains the name of the person you are honoring and a personal message from you. When lit, the cable illuminated the bag and radiates a soft light. A minimum $10.00 donation is requested for each Luminaria.

A special Luminaria ceremony will take place at the Relay For Life on June 7th at 10:00pm. Hundreds of Luminaria bags are placed around the track and lit by volunteers. The names will be read aloud during the ceremony. Everyone is welcome to attend!

This year, canned goods will be used to anchor the Luminaria bags. At the closing ceremony on June 8, the canned goods will be donated to The Neighbors' Place.
